Mex 1 Camouflage

As you can see from the pictures on this blog, I hadn’t washed the truck for the last two months so it would get nice and dirty - in hopes of being somewhat camouflaged while driving in Mexico. You know, let’s not stick out like a sore thumb…..but after a few days driving on Mex 1, I discovered that any camouflage attempts had been completely insufficient. So here is the revised method that I’ll need to perform next time.

First, replace that fancy roof rack with an old mattress, pile everything on top (and I mean everything…the stuff in the cab, the bed and even the boat if it will fit), add a tarp and finish with a single piece of rope tied to each bumper.
Next, jump on front bumper until it is sufficiently hanging ajar or completely fallen off, whichever comes first.
Finally, get a bat and hit a home run with the driver’s side mirror because it’s going to happen eventually anyway.

By the end of the trip, the little Taco had gotten pretty dirty, but it's got a lot of miles and a lot of years before it will truly qualify as Baja-Ready!
