Syd's Brother Bob

After a little while camping at SLC we finally realized that Syd’s Brother, Peaches Uncle, and Bob Lindsay were all the same person. Took us at least 5 days because anyone called him anything, including when he introduced himself from day to day. Bob is a wonderfully gifted craftsman of all things fishing, from custom rod builder (Calstar) to tackle expert to spinning whirlygigs. Since many of the locals in SLC have had Bob build them rods, many a monster yellowtail has been boated with a Lindsay rod – and gaffed with a Lindsay gaff!! Having bent our Bass Pro Shops gaff on the first fish, Steve is now a proud owner of a new Lindsay gaff. And of course, this whirligig has a place in any Bronco yard (USC eating Oklahoma). Peaches, on the other hand, was a sweet little baja dog that put up with Syd for many years. He loved the dog so much that many things around camp have her name on them, and he even wrote a book that describes the history of the Baja Peninsula through her eyes. The book at Amazon.com
